CDe Group

2001 to 2003

Immediately after graduating I took on a role at CDe Group, a furniture design and manufacturing company who produced all of their wares locally. It was an amazing chance to assist in the design, prototyping and manufacture of commercial furniture, but to also have my own designs approved and taken into production at the startlingly young age of 21.

At CDe under the mentorship of Geoff Fitzpatrick and Andrew Thompson I learned a lot about how the design world really works, and was able to drastically improve my skills in 3D and visualization in a short amount of time. Shown below is the Twin Ridge chair that I designed, it went into production in early 2002 and was sold to commercial and residential clients - and I foolishly never kept one for myself.

* These images hold up ok considering they were rendered in 3DSmax with the native scanline engine over 20 years ago!
